Page County State Bank is making a huge financial commitment to Clarinda's new hospital.

Bank officials Friday announced the donation of $25,000 towards the Clarinda Medical Foundation's "Building For Exceptional Care" campaign. Funds raised for Clarinda Regional Health Center's new hospital will help with the purchase of new medical equipment and patient comfort items.

Page County State Bank Chairman Ken Whitmore says it's a natural for his family to get behind such an important project for the community. Whitmore says his family and the bank's board of directors wanted to support the project because of the impact it will have on the community for decades. He adds the new facility is a good project from a longterm economic development standpoint and will impact the quality of care in the area for years to come.

Bank President Monty Boswell, who is also the medical foundation's president, encourages others to look to the future and support the campaign. More information on the project and fundraising campaign is available here, or by contacting the Clarinda Medical Foundation at 712-542-8339.

NOTICE OF CHANGES IN TEMPORARY
FDIC INSURACE COVERAGE FOR TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS

All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOLTAs"). It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts, and money-market deposit accounts.
